#12- Great InfoText Resources Site
TweenTribune by Smithsonian
TweenTribune is a great news site resource brought to you by the Smithsonian. It provides daily news articles for students. Articles are selected by professional journalists working in collaboration with teachers and students. As a Smithsonian resource, it has a variety of great, relevant and focused content-specific articles for both science and history/social science teachers.
A nice feature of TweenTribune is it offers articles at different reading levels. This gives teachers the ability to differentiate texts with the click of a mouse. Educators can assign articles, create worksheets and assessments for their students. The site also has the capability to automatically grade papers and deliver scores to the teacher’s online grade book. Lesson plans are available for teachers that can be filtered by topic, grade level, and Common Core standards. The site also provides resources in Spanish. TweenTribune is a great resource for ESL/ELL teachers.
Enjoy this new resource. Stay healthy and safe.
