At-Home Science Safety
A colleague and friend of mine from Burbank USD contacted me about a month ago asking if the state or county had any at-home science safety guidelines for teachers, students and parents engaged in distance learning instruction. After speaking with both county and state officials, it became apparent that a document such as this did NOT exist.
Thanks to a great collaborative effort with Jennifer Moses, Burbank USD and Anthony Quan, STEM Coordinator at the Los Angeles County Office of Education, we have developed At-Home Science Safety General Guidelines for K-12 teachers, along with a “student and parent-friendly” version.
I hope you find these new resources helpful as you continue to find ways to incorporate hands-on activities into your virtual instruction.
