Virtual Science Fair workshops for OC and LA
Virtual Science Fair Workshops are starting! Welcome back to the start of school, with all the excitement, challenges (and new stress) associated with teaching virtually. As you begin your instruction, I am sure you are looking for ideas to help with student engagement. Nothing does a better job in applying the Nature of Science and the SEPs then doing a science or engineering fair project!
Both the Orange and Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair Committees are offering interactive Virtual Science Fair Workshops for 6-12th grade science/STEM teachers. All workshops are FREE, thanks to the generosity of experienced presenters on their respective Advisory Committees.
Making the essential connections to NGSS and the Nature of Science, these workshops will walk you through the all the steps of research project design. Additionally, we will explore alignment with NGSS and the Common Core. There will be extensive support for entering the Orange and Los Angeles Counties Science and Engineering Fairs on Padlet and through website links.
Learn how to:
- Facilitate choosing a topic

- Produce award-winning displays for school and regional Science Fair competitions
- Use science fair projects as a PBL “culminating task” supporting NGSS SEP’s & 21st Century Skills
- Help with safety and regulations for specialized projects that need pre-approval for entering regional fairs
Zoom space is limited, so I encourage you to register now!
