Weekly Tip

#3-Zoom Student Seating Charts

Zoom has recently implemented some new features for teachers. One in particular, Custom Gallery View, you may find extremely helpful. When in Gallery View, click and drag videos to create your own seating chart organization to record attendance and document participation. After the initial change, all other participant videos will remain in place until moved. New participants will be added to the bottom-right of the last page on your screen. Your custom order will be seen only by you, or as host, you can share the view with your students. This order can be released to return the gallery view to normal.

  1. Click and drag any student video to the location on screen you want.

2. Continue as needed to achieve your desired on-screen order.

3. (Optional) As the host, click View, then Follow Host’s Video Order, to deploy your custom view to all participants.

4. Click View, then Release Video Order, to release the custom order.

Stay healthy and safe!
