#28- Let’s Support International Science Students!
2021 Regeneron Virtual International Science and Engineering Fair
During the 13 years as president of the Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair, I had multiple opportunities to support students competing in an annual event, the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). I had the privilege of chaperoning multiple years, and as an observer, meet and speak with students, teachers, parents, and judges from all over the world. It was amazing to chat and interact with these international students that represented the next generation of STEM leaders and innovators.
With the worldwide COVID crisis, the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair has gone virtual, as did many of the county and state science and engineering fairs across the nation. This offers a unique opportunity for you and your students to experience the excitement, creativity and academic excellence that epitomizes the ISEF event.

I encourage you to consider ways to include STEM research competitions into your curriculum and instruction. It supports every one of the Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) for the Next Generation Science Standards.
